Voice #02: Sudan Stands

This piece responds to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, a conflict where civilians continue to carry the greatest burden.

At the centre of the illustration are Bilal and Nafisa, representing civilians trying to protect one another and hold their ground amid instability. The hands closing in around them symbolise the pressure and violence created by the forces involved in the conflict. Rather than portraying opposition between people, this work focuses on those caught in between, families, communities, and individuals striving to survive. Sudan Stands is a reflection of resilience under pressure and a reminder that civilians are the ones who suffer most in times of war.
